Dixon Denham, Narrative of Travels and Discoveries in Northern and Central Africa, in the years 1822, 1823, and 1824 (London, 1826), facing p. 46.

Based on a sketch done in the field by Denham, this engraving shows two women and their clothing styles. Captioned "Kanemboo [Kanem] market woman" [left], "unmarried woman of Soudan" [right], the women are shown with [metal?] and bead jewellry and carrying calabash and pottery containers on their heads.
